I'll be trying out FriendCompare very soon, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
I've found Last.fm to be a great service but (like del.icio.us) very personal and not given to socialising, so 3rd party apps that make for a more social experience are welcome.
Oh, and I see my avatar up there too, *waves*

This is a similar concept to the website Wesabe - except instead of music it helps you track how you spend your money. I think it is always interesting to see what others are into, and how I compare. I agree this needs a little more meat to it though.

Thanks for your suggestions :) Meanwhile, I am working on new and more unique comparisons. I liked your suggestion of songs that are played only by 2 people on last.fm, even though the possibility of that happening is very dim :)
As of now, I'm racking my brains for more unique and useful comparisons
