SheGeeks: [GEEKED] Dell Mini 10 Netbook Giveaway

  • mindofandre · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel for this opportunity!! I found out about this through Corvida via Twitter

I would use the netbook to help out with live tweeting/blogging events as well as creating media on the go to bring more eyes to the importance of innovations in the public health space.
  • ptreskovich · 4 months ago
    I'd use it for work
  • Godfres · 4 months ago
Thank you Intel and Google Search Engine which put me across to this giveaway! How exciting! I would use this netbook all the time for looking up more information about MS (recent diagnosis of family member), as well as pulling up fun family games, crafts I could do with my children, while still blogging about our days and catching up on MSNBC news!
Have a Great Sunday! Patting as we speak....Pat pat pat pat...blast off!!!
  • Sonny Gill · 4 months ago
Awesome - thanks for the opportunity Corvida (saw your post on Facebook) and Intel! I'd definitely use it for traveling and not have to worry about lugging around a regular sized laptop bag, power cords, etc.

And I literally patted myself on the back, if you're wondering!
  • jeremiah · 4 months ago
Thanks for the opportunity Intel! I found out about this through Corvida via twitter (thanks to you to!).

Mostly I'd use it to check e-mail, feeds, irc, and a little mobile programming/scripting. I'd also like to be able to view photos on a screen larger than my camera's LCD.

    Thanks again!
  • Amy Stewart · 4 months ago
Thanks, Intel, for making these tiny netbooks possible (and for making new Macs so much faster), and thanks, Corvida, for leading me here from Twitter! (I am @astewart)

How would I use a netbook on the go? I am a graphic designer and work from home. If I had this netbook, I would be able to do sketching, web work and blog from outside this house so much more easily. I would also hook up my Wacom Bamboo to this thing, and use it as a travelling sketchbook with Artrage.

Thank you so much for this contest, and I sure hope I win!

Now, off to spend some time on shegeeks.net...
  • Dr. Thomas Ho · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for this prize and to @corvida for tweeting about this post.

I would use a netbook to "enrich" my tweets because my iPod touch makes it difficult to originate tweets that share content via links.
  • Coxymoney · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for this prize, for @corvida to putting it together on shegeeks.net, and to @drthomasho for tweeting a thank you to @corvida!

How would you use a netbook on the go? I would use a netbook on the go frankly the same way I use my iPhone or iTouch - just more often and more robust things. I pretty much demand myself to be connected 24-7, even on the go. It would also give myself the opportunity to keep my dual computers at home and have the flexibility of not being confined to a stable desk working environment.

*Point of emphasis* The founder of a mobile events and branding startup needs to be exactly that, MOBILE!
  • emielli · 4 months ago
@GeekGirlCamp retweeted @corvida, which I`m glad she did!

I would use it for working on smaller projects, like articles, blog posts, etc., so that I would be able to work on the go, but not have to carry around a larger laptop.
  • Coxymoney · 4 months ago
I just pated myself on the back three times. Did I just triple the chances I had to win?
  • Tarrant · 4 months ago
Thanks for @geekgirlcamp for tweeting this contest. I would use it to stay on top of work while taking my mother to her doctor's appointments. As a full-time caregiver I often need an option that is light enough to grab along with the wheelchair, the go-bag with her supplies, and her paperwork. (And it would allow me to pull up those names and addresses of other doctors to fill out paperwork and the med list, etc)
  • serenalee · 4 months ago
Thanks to my GoogleReader that led me to this blog post.

I would use a netbook on the go when I need to type up a quick article or write notes during class. I love that it's perfectly able to fit comfortably into a handbag and it isn't heavy at all.
  • dfwgin · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel. I was just looking on google for reviews on the Mini 10. I need to check e-mails on the go.
  • femme · 4 months ago
Thanks @corvida for tweeting this! I would use my netbook on the go help me gather information for the charity project me and my better half are thinking about putting together, to offer 5 Capetonian underprivileged kids a new brand of top quality, private education. We'd need to find a webdesigner, start sourcing sponsors, start generating interest on FB, Twitter, and research available partners on websites suchs as Myggsa. All this from the convenience of my nifty new little notebook :-)
  • Colin Walker · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for putting up the prize and thanks to @corvida for tweeting the competition.

Having been in a self inflicted social media hiatus for about 6 months a netbook would be a perfect tool for really getting back in the saddle whilst on the go and make life easier to jot down those thoughts that hit you whilst on the road that you otherwise lose before you get to a pc.
  • netnutt · 4 months ago
Intel you are awesome this is such a great way to help fellow bloggers promote themselves.

I found out about Corvida va Jeffisageek and turned me on to the socialgeeks podcast. Great podcast btw.

As a web developer, business owner, social media fiend, photographer, videographer and all around geek. I spend a lot of my time on the go. It would help me by having a smaller / lighter solution to take with me when working for non profits, clients, or even just surfing the web.

It would be really nice to drop the weight of my geek pack down consolidating many of items and getting rid of my old heavy laptop.

Also it would give me a wonderful solution to be able to do more live feeds for the organizations i am involved with .

Good luck to all and thanks again for Intel and Corvida for this great opportunity.
  • merredith · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel for the opportunity -- and thanks as always to awesomesauce @Corvida for pointing out the opportunity. I'm a big fan of SheGeeks and all the bloggers there.

I would use the NetBook to try out Windows7 -- and to be honest, I would probably use the NetBook as a computer to take the pressure off of my work laptop, which I probably shouldn't let my kids use. I have one getting ready for college and another in the throes of homework and apps. As it is, we all struggle with computer time in my house, and I should really reserve the laptop for work, since my office paid for it. That said, I am really excited about the potential of NetBooks and all the cloud apps that are being touted for it.

(off to pat myself on the back)
  • Anjuan Simmons · 4 months ago
I thank Intel for being gracious enough to sponsor this contest and support the Oprah of the Web. I found out about this blog post through Corvida's tweet about it.

I would use a netbook "on the go" as an MBA student at Texas A&M. I will graduate in December, and I have seen my fellow students in previous semesters use their laptops/netbooks in order to be more efficient instead of having to use the campus computer labs (which are often over-crowded). Unfortunately, I have been unable to afford this privilige so receiving a Dell Mini 10 would be an outstanding benefit to use in my final semester in business school! I think netbooks are tailor made for students with their small profiles, long battery life, and ability to run cloud applications like GMail, Google Docs, Facebook, and Twitter.

I have also patted myself on the back just in case you're curious!
  • download de filmes · 4 months ago
thanks for the post - That's great! Congratulations!
  • jeffisageek · 4 months ago
HOLY CRAP!!! Thank you Intel for this chance and thank you Corvida for offering it to us geeks!

How I would use it would be to help elevate my mobile game by being able to live feed more events and of course take my geek ninja skills to the next level!

I have always wanted to get a netbook as I think they are pretty awesome and every geek should have one :)

thanks again and please help this geek take it to the next level :)

    <<pat my own back>>

and as always a fan of shegeeks from back in the day :)

    Good Luck everyone!!
  • Jon Silk · 4 months ago
    Thanks Intel. Thanks Jeffisageek.

I would use a netbook on the go while sitting in my lounge, half-watching House on Sky2. With it plugged in.
  • gd5565 · 4 months ago
Thank you Intel. Thank you Jeffisageek.

Seeing that we're about to have layoffs in our office and I'll be losing use of my corporate laptop, a Dell Netbook would be great! I can apply for jobs between social media events and take it with me on interviews to display my portfolio.
  • robertnelson · 4 months ago
With Intel offering up a netbook as a giveaway, it is hard not to say thanks, so Thanks Intel! As for the person that led me to this site, Google Reader, yes I am already an RSS subscriber to SheGeeks.

I have to admit that I would not be using this netbook for myself, it would be for my wife, who is on the road a lot and has recently had her old laptop crash and burn. :(

    <pats back> Wow, that was nice ;) <pats back again> :)

No need to take a look around because I have been here before and will be back again, although I have to say that the theme is looking good.
  • Nikia · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel and the lovely Corvida (I am Google Reader Subscriber to your blog) for this contest!

I plan to use the netbook to blog at work (on breaks, of course ;-)) because when an idea hits me, I need to immediately put it into writing. I'll even use it while at home since hubby is a internet radio DJ and music producer that tends to hog the computer. Love him to pieces though. :-)

thank you Intel!!! I'm a techie librarian and I have been subscribed to this blog for about 6 months. I'm not actually sure how I first stumbled upon you....though now I use bloglines to read on a regular basis.

I would use the netbook for staying connected while I travel, blogging about kindness and compassion in the workplace for my blog and working on my YA novel from my preferred spot at a coffee shop instead of home where there are SO many distractions!

    [pat, pat, pat]

  • ax0n · 4 months ago
Jeffisageek led me here via Google Reader. Big props to intel and corvida for putting this one on!

I get around mostly by bicycle, so I would like something powerful but light. I stream music, remote-administer servers, and tinker around with the latest toys that social media and information security have to offer.

I'm a highly mobile kind of guy that's been making do with OLD, light technology (think clamshell palmtops from the turn of the century) and heavy modern technology (MacBook, tethered). Obviously something slim that would fit in a small bag would go great with my lifestyle.
  • Bridget · 4 months ago
Thanks, Intel! Thanks Google Reader and SheGeeks RSS feed!

As an academic librarian, having access to our databases and Web resources wherever I go is important. The ability to help a student in their department, at the student union, at the coffee shop, and in a variety of other environments outside of the library is one that I aim to do. Unfortunately, my laptop can be a bit on the heavy side. With a netbook, it would be much easier (and lighter!) to carry around campus and help students with their research needs. In addition, a netbook would keep me connected with my students when I am traveling for professional development purposes.
  • Siv · 4 months ago
Thanks for this great opportunity! I found this blog post through my Google Reader subscription.

I am a blogger and maintain various blogs online. This notebook will allow me blog on the much more efficiently.
  • LisetteLisette · 4 months ago
Thanks to google and to Intel!! :)

I'd be able to work on important work from pretty much anywhere. I just started college and well, I NEED this!
  • johnlalor · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for doing it and shegeeks.net for makingme aware.

I travel a lot with work and home. My daughter is old enough (7) to start travelling overseas and we are planning our first big adventure to Asia. The netbook will keep us connected.
  • Gadgetlady · 4 months ago
Thank you Intel!! What a wonderful gesture you're giving the readers of this blog. I follow Shegeeks through both twitter and rss feeds.

I have several uses for a Netbook. The most important is in the upcoming months, my husband and I will be travelling out of country and the Netbook will help us stay close to our little son whom I will miss terribly, even though he'll be in great hands. While we're away in Mexico, we're going to be helping the local villagers rebuild some of their community after horrible flooding wreaked havoc there. The second reason is that I enjoy blogging and while we are away (or home, or even at the office) I can still blog, share pictures and stories and even keep up on work!! You can't do that on a desktop!!

I've been following this friendfeed/facebook decision through shegeeks. Thanks for keeping us updated, Corvida!!
  • cansuelter · 4 months ago
    Teşekkürler Intel!
    Thank you Intel!
    Danke Intel!
    Gracias Intel!
    Merci Intel!
    Grazie Intel!
i'am a new-graduated communication faculty student and need a netbook for my new future work.
i'll be a copywriter, and you can not imagine when "the idea" comes, at a cafe, on the bus, before sunrise, even at bathroom.
A small computer let me work at these times (yes, even at bathroom:))
i came to world randomly and spontaniously with a cell, and wish this random replies again.

  • Andrew · 4 months ago
Thank you Intel for performing well in my desktop. I hope I can thank you for this netbook, too. I came across SheGeeks because FriendFeed recommended Corvida as someone I should follow and it's already paying off. I would use the netbook to get away from my desktop more. I am telecommuting these days and hate being tied to the same location all the time. I'd love to occassionaly go to a coffee house, library, or park every now and then to get work done and have a computer at all times when I'm traveling.

Thank you to me for entering even though I never win sweepstakes. Time to take a lookaround some more.
  • TOPolk · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel! Not only for making quality processors, but for providing me with countless hours of entertainment. Your marketing campaigns have cracked me up over the years. Props to Monica O'Brien's twitter feed. It was through her stream that I stumbled upon this blog as well as this contest.

As for how I would use a netbook, it would mainly be my traveling computer. My laptop screen died on me a few months ago, and I've been chained to my desktop since. It kinda blows because I really miss tweeting from the couch.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to pat myself on the back a little while taking a stroll around your blog... *whistles*
  • marialinger · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel... for making my laptop what it is....my life, able to be carried in a laptop bag. Thanks to Shegeek for sending me an email digest with this blog post in it. And if I had the netbook...I would keep in touch when I travel. I twitter, Facebook, email, look at sites like Mashable, SheGeek, etc. when I am traveling, and a netbook would sure be easier to carry than this gigantic HP Pavilion...also I am returning to school at the age of 47 to learn more about computers. A netbook would be a lot easier to carry around campus, to and from classes, and to and from work. I would be able to sell my HP to someone who needs it.
  • Deborah R · 4 months ago
Thanks, Intel, for the chance to win a Dell Mini 10. Thanks, Google, for bringing me to SheGeeks. Thanks, SheGeeks for hosting this giveaway!

I'd use a Netbook on the go to keep in touch, especially with my son who lives in Japan.

Now, please excuse me while I go look around while patting myself on the back. :D
  • pattysmith · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for this great prize.
Thanks to shegeeks for the giveaway.
Thanks to my sister who said OMG QUICK GO TO SHEGEEKS!
Will use the notebook to send and receive emails.
  • campal121 · 4 months ago
    Thank you Intel
    Thank you She-Geeks
This will save my back and shoulder as my current computer is about the heaviest on the market and it does not belong to me... work computer. I would use this wonderful mini notebook to connect to my friends and family and take it everywhere with me. I would no longer be burdened by a clunker... except back and forth to work... can't get away from it. However, I will pat myself on the back because it will no longer hurt.

Thanks Intel for the giveaway! And I found the site through browsing.
I would use this for college. It sounds perfect!
  • facebook-505301357 · 4 months ago
Thanks To Intel and I found this site by browsing for info on the new Dell Mini10 vs Dell Mini 9.

As a photographer I would use this to store more images while on the road and on the go, so I can then edit and publish them either right on the spot. Would make getting the best photos a lot easier as well, less memory cards to carry around, not to mention use of the Broadband/Wifi would help with weather conditions and a lot lighter to carry than a regular laptop.
  • sandy · 4 months ago
going back to college and this would be handy for notes and classwork without dragging the big computer. I found thru a friend. Yes I patted myself on the back and love this site ms. oprah of the net!

  • hawkshoe · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel and Online-sweepstakes.com for referring me for this contest. This computer would be perfect to take with me on vacation so I can keep in touch back home and upload pictures for all to see what we are up to.

Thank you Intel and Marie for the opportunity to win this prize. I would be able to keep up with my email and do research for my job.
  • Cheryl M · 4 months ago
Thank you intel for this great giveaway. Would love to win this for my son. I am so proud of him. He recently graduated college, using his archaic computer. It took him a little bit longer as he also worked a full time job while going to school. He is very passionate regarding his major. However, in this economy he is having difrficulty getting a job in his field. This would definitely boost his spirits.
  • margaretsmith · 4 months ago
Thank you so much SheGeeks and Intel for offering this wonderful prize. I've been really wishing for a netbook. I love that these are so lightweight and convenient and just so darn cute.
I would love to use this on the go for keeping up with my emails. I mostly work from home and have small children, so this Netbook would give me the freedom to work outside of my home, going place with my kids and still be able to keep up on my emails. It would really give me much more freedom to leave the house more often.
Thank you so much for offering this really wonderful prize!

I also patted myself on my back. (really did too)
  • caroldz · 4 months ago

  • kmg365 · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for the chance to win, and to OLS for leading me here. I'm not precisely sure how I would use a netbook, since I've never owned a notebook/laptop before. I know it would come in handy for keeping in touch with work while I'm traveling. And I'm sure I'd find fun (non-work) stuff to do with it, too. Now I'm off to attempt patting myself on the back without breaking my arm.
  • Carol G · 4 months ago
Definitely give a thank you to OLS for this contest post. If I were to win, I would give this to one of the family members entering college this year--they both need one, and this would help stretch their grant money. So far as patting myself on the back, I prefer to have others recognize that I am trying to help (and they do, even without me saying a thing!).
  • cherissef · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel for an opportunity to get my hands on a good product. I found shegeek.net through Gen Y PR Prescriptions' blog on Diversity in PR Social Media. The Dell Mini 10 Notebook would come in handy because I just started on this new adventure of become a social meida expert. I am in the process of launching my blog this week (check it out www.innovativequeen.com) and getting connected with people in the biz. This would be an awesome tool since I am on the go with my family all the time! Thanks Corvida! Enjoying looking around at Shegeeks.net!

Thanks to Intel for making a great product, and thanks to my friend who shall remain nameless (tho she has posted here) for leading me to this site. I am currently tethered to my desk as I only have a desktop (tho it IS Intel powered) and would love to have the freedom to move about with this product.
  • rrshep · 4 months ago
Thanks so much to Intel for this great giveaway and to OLS for giving me the information to this giveaway. I would use this netbook anytime I travel to keep in touch with friends and family. As long as I'm not driving, I would even be able to use in on short drives. I'm patting my back while I'm typing one-handed. As a fellow geek, I love your site.

Thank you Intel for this sweepstakes. Thanks Online-sweepstakes.com for listing this blog. The netbook PC will be a definite asset to my traveling genealogy research efforts.
  • Patrice · 4 months ago
I want to thank Intel for having this giveaway, and I want to thank online-sweepstakes.com for letting me know about it. I have never had a laptop, and it would be wonderful to be able to use a computer without being tethered to my desktop. I don't even have a proper computer desk or chair and it has always been awkward and uncomfortable to use my keyboard which is at the wrong height for me. And it would be wonderful to have a computer to use outside of the home when needed.

I just patted myself on my back with my left hand.

Wow! Intel donated a great prize! Thanks! I heard this from online-sweepstakes.com, which is a fabulous site that allows me to enter all kinds of contests, and connects me to really cool blogs.

I'd definitely use the computer when I go on vacation! It would be small enough to carry on the plane. I'd probably install a few computer games to keep my son occupied.

Thanks SheGeeks for hosting many sensational contests I come here often and found another dynomite offer.

I would use the mini while I wait for my kids to get done with football and cheer practice 2 1/2 hrs. 5 days a week. Sure is boring sitting and waiting. I could accomplish so much more with a mini!

  • batchicky · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel, and thanks Melanie :-) I have worked from home for 10 years, and if I had a netbook, I could take my work out, and be able to sit at a baseball game, and do my orders, instead of having to stay home and work. I would love to have this!
  • luckphree · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel for the tech: pung . . . pum pum pum pum. Also, let the thanks ring out inside the halls of OLS for bringing me here.

How would I use it? First, I would open the netbook. Second I would power it up. Then I would sit back and smile as I was able to get some work done, keep up with the latest news and maybe even watch a few of my favorite new shows on hulu - defying gravity is great stuff btw.

[two handed back pat] and here's looking at you, shegeeks.net

    Cheers,

    D

Thank you Intel for your thoughtful contribution. I found out about this through Corvida via Twitter.

This opportunity has come right on time. My laptop broke a few weeks ago and school starts up again in a few weeks. I would be able to use this as a stand in while I save up enough money for a full sized one. This would also help me keep up w/ my social sites while on the go, since I will be away from home a lot this upcoming semester.

    (patting back now =-) )

  • mckim · 4 months ago

Thank you Intel for this opportunity to win this wonderful prize! Thank you online-sweepstakes for having had someone post this on your site.

a netbook would be great for on the go surfing! I'm currently job-hunting, and it would be great to check my mail when I am away from home. The desktop is a little too cumbersome to drag around with me(although I do bring it on vacations!) Also, our library has wireless internet and it's air-conditioned - I could use it there too !

SheGeeks - thank you for having posted this giveaway! I do love to read about the latest in technology, but I REALLY like to HAVE it too!!

Thanks to Intel for being such a reliable part of my laptop. I wish I could say the same thing about the fan though! :( Thanks also to Google (Alerts) for letting me know about this giveaway when I need a new computer the most.

I would use a netbook on the go to do the things I like to do the most - enter contests, read & write emails, surf the Internet, etc. I would be more willingly to take my kids outside to play (at least when the temperature is not 100+ degrees) if I had a netbook. My current laptop only lasts a few minutes away from an electric outlet. :O

Thanks to Intel and online sweepstakes for the contest and info. I really need this notebook because in my Kindergarten class we take lots of fieldtrips where we bring a digital camera to document our experiences. How cool would it be to be able to upload the photos right then and create a slide show or powerpoint to show immediatly or upon our return to school. Also, we could use the internet feature to reasearch something we need more information about. For example, on a nature hike we could google some facts about some of the creatures we see.

Many, many thanks to both Intel and SheGeeks.net for this awesome giveaway!

I was directed here by your tweet Corvida, as I follow you and read this blog regularly.

I would use this notebook to help with my travel writing so I can actually write and post on the go. My current laptop is five years old, with a burnt-out battery (so I always have to be corded) and a broken monitor that always has to be propped up by something or it falls completely back.

Not only did I just pat myself, but so did my dog who is sleeping behind my back. :D

  • Sam111111 · 4 months ago
Intel, I would probably turn around and sell this laptop if I got it, but it would only be so I could purchase a Mini 10 with widescreen and 6-cell battery. [You will be 'stimulating the economy'!!!]
Then I would use it to write on the train and increase productivity [and other buzzwords].
I already have a Dell Mini 9, but the keyboard is ... problematic, and the desktop space [on the screen] is ... very small.
  • Lori · 4 months ago
Thank you Intel and Sweepstakes Advantage. I would love to have this Dell netbook. Thank you so very very much INTEL and Thank you SA(sweepstakes advantage)
I have 4 of us trying to use 1 pc and with kids taking online advanced classes along with their advanced classes at school they need a pc that does it all. I wish I had one just for entering my contests, email and twitter. I also would like it to be a light weight machine for on the go take it with me anywhere and everywhere, my older children and other family live 1200 miles away so I need my computer to be able to travel with me at all times. I would take it with me everywhere so I could still be able to do my thing in a boat, riding a goat, in the snow or in the sand it would be close at hand, my netbook and me a true friend if given to me.
I'm patting my back, hugging myself, crossing my legs, fingers, arms and toes hoping to be the one chose.

    Thank you so much

I was introduced to netbooks by Intel at BlogHer right after listening to and meeting Corvida after her kick-but session. Coincidence? Hmmm. So it is thanks to BlogHer for letting me learn about cool stuff and people.

So I can thank Intel now for this nagging feeling that a Netbook would rock for writing, researching, and sharing during travels. They are so small and light. Seriously, I am a travel writer focusing mostly on family travel. Adding a full size laptop to the water bottles and food and wipes and extra clothes I stuff in my backpack to keep my daughter from melting down in case we get held on the tarmac for 11 hours is usually too much.
  • vdeliz · 4 months ago
Thanks to Intel and OLS for showing me this wonderful giveaway.

I travel a lot and carry my laptop with me. My current laptop is a 17" that weight quite a bit. Having a netbook would free me from the burden of carrying a ton of weight when running for an airplane. This machine would also fit on the little trays that the airlines have.

Thanks for this very nice giveaway.
  • honeypie411 · 4 months ago

Mucho thanks to Intel for sponsoring this giveaway and to SheGeeks for hosting it. I found the giveaway listed on the site online-sweepstakes.com and I'm entering because I really want a laptop or a netbook or any kind of computer so (a) I can take it with me and (b) I don't have to fight with my hubby over who gets to use the desktop.

I would use the netbook on the go to comparison shop. I hate buying anything without knowing what price it's going for at two or three other places. I'm getting addicted to Twitter, but I don't know how to use it on my phone (and I'm not sure I want to), but if I had a netbook, I would definitely tweet more. I would use the netbook to keep track of the weather, especially in hurricane season with what looks like a major blow developing off the coast of Africa. Also, I'm a writer and I don't spend as much time writing as I should. I would love to take this netbook with me to lunch or just out in the back yard on a Saturday so I can write.

I would love this netbook so I can check e-mails when I'm away for a weekend or on vacation and I'd love to give it to my husband when he goes on deployment to keep in touch with me.

Thank you Intel for a great prize (and processors in general). Thanks also to OLS for posting this. And thank you also SheGeeks for having the contest!

I have wanted a netbook for a while. My work computer won't hold a battery charge anymore, so I would use a netbook to handle any work that comes up when I'm stimulating the economy by buying Frapacinos. I'd also use the netbook to manage my audiobook downloads. Thanks.

  • Happi Shopr · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel and OLS for putting me on to this giveaway! I so need to replace my sputtering laptop which I use daily for email, sweeps, job hunts, etc. I tweeted too as happishopr.
  • guettel78 · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel -- you're the best! And another thanks to OLS for directing me to this post. I'm a student, so I'd definitely use the netbook to check email, read articles (with Adobe), write papers (using MS Works), and take notes, and the portability of the netbook would make it really easy to take it to class, to the campus quad and student union, to coffee shops, on the bus, etc. That would make my life a lot easier, and really up my productivity (pat on the back for that, too!). Final thanks to you for hosting the giveaway and for having such a great site full of useful technology tips and reviews!
  • blueeyeleo · 4 months ago
Thanks Intel for such a great opportunity!!!! I found this through online-sweepstakes. I would not be the one using this I would gift it to my hubby for him to use at work since the laptop he has been using is on its last leg.

I would use it for blogging and curriculum planning while trailing after my 2yo... :)

Thank you Intel for this exciting opportunity. I found out about this giveaway through Brimful Curiosities.

I am not looking for a pity party, but I would want the Dell Mini 10 Netbook to use while I am having my infusions which take about three hours every four weeks. Currently I am receiving weekly injections and just spend an awful lot of time in doctors' offices and the infusion clinics. It would be nice to have something to do to take my mind off of it. Plus, I don't have a laptop.

I would pat myself on my back, but I have injured my shoulder and can't really reach it after three surgeries. I will just have to be imaginative with this motion like I am with everything else.

    Thank you,

    Christine

This would be great for puttering around the house, sitting back on the veranda, or wandering around campus.

I'll have to do a virtual pat on the back to myself due to shoulder pain (I guess I did it once too often)
  • tigercheryl · 4 months ago

  • dewer421 · 4 months ago
Thank you Intel (for choosing me!) and thank you happishopr for Tweeting the giveaway!

I currently have a laptop computer, but it takes up my whole lap and then some! I could definitely use a Netbook to keep my blog up to date, my photos posted on the go, and keep myself and my family connected when we're on the go!

    P.S. I patted!

Thank you to Intel, and to Brimful Curiosities for turning me on to this site and giveaway! If I won this notebook, I'd use it for checking email and doing some work while waiting for my son to get out of school (make better use of that sitting-in-the-parking-lot time!). *Patting myself on the back - not too easy while typing!
Now I'm going to take a look around the site to see what else I can find...

    Thank you!
  • MrsWW · 4 months ago
I would use it while taking my aging parents to their doctor appointments. It would give me something to do instead of mindlessly leafing through waiting room magazines.

  • danielle78 · 4 months ago
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Intel and to Brimful Curiosities for directing me toward this contest!

You asked how I would use the netbook on the go, but I would actually be using it as my home computer. My computer crashed right after I got home from a mission trip to Mexico in February and I have actually been borrowing a Mini 10 Netbook from a friend since then (I'm pretty sure she's wondering when I'm going to give it back). So, I'd use it for on the go and all my at home stuff!

My back has officially been self-patted.

SheGeeks rocks and I'm going to check out more cool stuff your site has to offer!
  • alycep · 4 months ago
I can sure use this Dell netbook to monitor my online bookstore from anywhere. Thank you Intel for giving us the chance to get one. I came here through on-line sweepstakes site(OLS) so thanks to them as well.

I am so grateful to Intel for giving me this opportunity. I found through babies grow up blog on my blogroll!

As for using a Dell mini - oh my! I am a mother of three children under the age of 5 - I cannot take my laptop plus a diaper bag plus a stroller or sling plus an extra pair of shoes plus a blankie plus a soccer uniform plus a soccer ball plus a.....
BUT - a mini would fit nicely in my oversized diaper bag!

    Brilliant! Patting away.

Thank you Intel, OLS, and Corvida.. Wow, what an awesome opportunity for one of us. I would keep this for myself to use at work while on my lunch break, to check e-mails and to enter a few sweeps.
  • Sara · 4 months ago
Intel and Sweepstakes Advantage get some hugs from me!

If I had a mini laptop, I basically would make some totally unnecessary and pointless updates from different spots on earth where I usually wouldn't be online. It surely does give you more freedom, you can have the laptop with you everywhere you go as it isn't heavy, and as soon as you see the wifi / wlan sign you can sit down, connect and let the world know what you are doing. Like they care ;-)
  • lazybones344 · 4 months ago

Positive affirmations are so important so I just gave myself a nice pat on the back, well, er uh, it was actually my shoulder, my arms are short! And now without further ado, I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU TO INTEL for sponsoring such an amazing giveaway and to OLS for referring me here! I am a busy mommy of 3 young children. Right now I have no laptop or means to stay connected on the internet if I am not sitting directly at my desktop computer. I just started my own blog at the end of May and I want to work on it to build it up to a place where friends, family, and potentially new friends want to visit. Having this Dell Mini 10 Netbook would be a dream come true for me. I would be able to work on my blog from any room in the house, which means I can be watching my kids and accessing the internet. It would also come in handy when we are out at appointments or just out and away from the house. I can quickly and easily carry the netbook with me to check emails, correspond with my bank, look up important information, twitter, it would literally chance my life! So, I want to thank you so much for the chance to enter.

Great thanks go out to Brent, for leading me here. And my wife, Monique, for pointing it out to me. Also to Intel, for making true a dream I've held for nearly thirty years! As a young teen, I read a great book by L. Neil Smith, "The Probability Broach". Then he wrote a sequel, which came out around 1980, "The Venus Belt". In the second book, the main characters' wife gave him a Dell Mini 10 Netbook! They didn't call it that, but that's what it was. Over the next 3 decades, I've watched, waited, and drooled over the day my dream machine really existed. Every year, it got closer, technology got better. Now it's here, and real, and I can hardly believe it! If I win, I'll use it much as it was used in the story I read. I'll keep books to read, movies to watch, music to hear, check for communications from friends, research and write my own missives to the world in general, all from anywhere at any time. I've truly waited most of my life (I'm nearly 50 now) for this computer. What a world we live in!

Many Thanks to Intel, the person who posted the link here on OLS and SheGeeks.
Living where there is no broadband available (yet - I keep hoping...........) I would use the netbook each week when I go to town - there's a nice little cafe....
and use it at home when my husband is on-line and i can't be to compose myself (so to speak). Ok, patted myself - now to look around more.........

Thanks to Intel for this great giveaway! Thanks Online Sweepstakes for the link provided to this giveaway! I don't have a cellphone or other (pardon the expression) electonic leashes. (My husband's term, as he doesn't want those at work to contact him in his off-time!) I would use the netbook to remain in contact while out-and-about. My work also is predominately on the computer, and there are assisngments I have to turn down, due to the lack of a laptop. The netbook would allow me to take more work. I could also use it at home, cutting down on the squabble over computer time with my kids.

Thank you Intel and Sweepstakes Advantage. I would take this with me everywhere and could use it instead of my cell phone to type in reports much easier. However, I would probably give it to my son who does not have his own computer. I patted myself on the back and looked around SheGeek.

Thanks to Intel (You have really been leaving AMD in the dust for the last couple years!) and to my friend Robert from work who told me about this blog giveaway. I would like to have this netbook so that I can actually have a computer I can use on the go again. I have a laptop right now, but it is huge, heavy, and 4 years old so it is getting old. Last time I took it out of the house, it got a new line down the monitor so now I have a total of 3 lines on the monitor. Pat pat pat.

Thanks for the giveaway... And thank you to Intel and OLS for pointing us to shegeeks.net; I often have to take last minute, overnight trips for my job and packing a Dell Mini 10 Netbook would be a breeze: instead of a big laptop bag I could just toss it in with my overnight bag with my change of clothes & toothbrush.

Thanks again for a great giveaway with an awesome prize.

P.S. I may have dislocated my shoulder while patting my own back.
